High Performance Exhausts
Outlaw Hobby Producst is proud to carry MACS Product's Exhaust systems.
Why MACS?
-
A cheap way to boost RPM and Horsepower.
-
Lightweight: up to 50% lighter than stock mufflers.
-
Sounds great like a performance exhaust should.
-
One piece construction will not unbolt or come apart in flight.
-
Will not leak like a two piece muffler will.
-
Less likely to be damaged in a crash.
Perfomance Results:
We tested MACS One Piece mufflers to give you an idea of what to expect. These results can vary, but give you a good indicator of what these mufflers can do for a plane.
Aircraft: OMP Katana .46 size Profile Plane
Engine: OS 55AX
Fuel: Wildcat 15% Nitro Premium Extra - 18% Oil
Prop: APC 13 x 4 Sport
Outside Temp: 94 deg F
| Muffler: | Peak RPM Range Results: | Notes: |
| OS55AX Stock Exhaust | 11,600 - 11,900 | Decent power. Punches out of a hover OK. |
| MACS Regular Muffler 6590 | 12,600 - 12,960 | Noticable increase in power. Punches out of a hover much better. Threw stock muffler in trash. |
| MACS Scotsman Muffler 6724 | 12,900 - 13,140 | Substantial increase in power. Punches out of a hover with authority. Sounds louder since it doesn't have any baffles. Can't believe how much power this gives, but how cheap it is. Sounds mean. |
| MACS Regular Muffler 6720 | 12,980 - 13,240 | Awesome increase in power. Punches out of a hover with authority. Allows you to get out of trouble fast. This thing is awesome. |
Standard MACS Mufflers:
-
Black Anodized finish
-
Standard pressure tap fitting for using pressurized fuel tanks.
-
Angled 7.5° away from a straight 90° (97.5° angle)
Profile Plane MACS Mufflers:
- Custom pressure tap fitting for using pressurized fuel tanks. (Usually not included)
-
Angled 7.5° away from a straight 90° (97.5° angle) and then twisted away 15° from fuselage
-
Perfect for profile planes because it points the exhaust oil away from the fuselage. Keeps your plane cleaner and your covering from peeling off.
Scotsman MACS Mufflers:
-
Unfinished Bare Aluminum
-
Custom pressure tap fitting for using pressurized fuel tanks. (Usually not included)
-
Angled 7.5° away from a straight 90° (97.5° angle)
Same inside as the Standard Black mufflers, but they don't have a restriction baffle tube inside the stinger end. -
Louder than the Standard Black mufflers. Which at least makes the plane seem faster. :-)
